Water mains are most often located on the edge of your front yard close to the street. You will see a round metal or plastic lid that covers the water main, which is the water line that runs from the street to your house. There will be a gauge and a rectangle knob. It is the rectangle knob on the street side that controls the water to your home. There may also be a lever on your home side.
