Alternative Flooring

Alternative Flooring has been providing a friendly local service to businesses and homeowners within Gloucestershire and the surrounding counties since 1999. Steve and his Alternative Flooring Team have worked on numerous projects ranging in size from 1m square hallways to 250 sq m school halls, French Farm houses, Cheltenham Town houses, Hotel Lounges and bars.

If repair work needs to be carried out such as the removal and replacement of floorboards or wood blocks, this will be done using reclaimed materials as much as possible. This ensures that a true match to the existing boards is achieved. The floor is then sanded back to good wood using various grades of discs, finishing with the finest to obtain a smooth surface.

The final process is the surface finishing and for this the client has a choice of either a lacquered coating or an oiled/waxed finish. We only use the best products. Osmo Hardwax Oil for an oiled finish and Bonakemi Mega/Traffic for laquered.

Sometimes a new installation may be required either as a replacement for an existing floor or for a new build project. We use tried and trusted suppliers of real wood & engineered wood plank flooring and endeavour to obtain the best prices for our customers. We are happy to leave samples for you to "live" with prior to making your choice for your new floor.
