We have provided the catering for over 1000 weddings and had the privilege of catering for the Archbishop of Canterbury, High Sheriff of Kent, Mervyn King (Formally Governor of bank of England), Graham Cowdrey and an array of pop stars including Bob Geldof and Chris de Burgh. For the last few years we have branched out into catering for corporate events such as new car launches, School Proms, Summer and winter Balls and new store openings in the Kent area. We can cater further afield, including South East London, by negotiation. Blackbird Caterers was founded in 1987 and grew from humble beginnings in Chartham Hatch, Nr Canterbury. By 1991 we had opened a restaurant in Castle St, Canterbury and, keeping the theme of the nursery rhyme, called it ‘The Counting House’. We offered a simple menu comprising of all-day breakfasts, lunchtime specials and afternoon cream teas to suit the clientele who were mainly from the surrounding offices, estate agencies and retirement homes.
