Richard qualified Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 1981 from Glasgow University. During the 33 years since qualification he has gained valuable experience in general dentistry working in a variety of posts in Scotland, Greater London and overseas in Saudi Arabia.

He has a special interest in implant and cosmetic dentistry and cosmetic orthodontics. This interest has been supported by attendance at many postgraduate courses, workshops and events over very many years. Having been a vocational dental trainer for 8 years, he was providing training, mentoring and support to new postgraduate dentists in the practice setting.
