Capri Guest House Llandudno

Capri Guest House Llandudno

Llandudno was referred to as 'The Naples of the North' by the Victorians, as was the beauty of this Welsh resort by the sea. In keeping with this, they named their Town Hall, after the romantic Isle of Capri.

Many historians would agree that in the early 1850's the most prominent building in Llandudno was indeed The Capri.

The very heart of the town at that time was Church Walks and The Capri being so central (and elegant) was deemed ideal for use as Llandudno Town Hall from 1854 to 1902 and as Llandudno's first Magistrates Court in 1856. Here, too, the Llandudno Association for the Prosecution of Felons was formed in 1857 (in the absence of a police force), as a club that offered rewards for information leading to convictions.
