I have experience of teaching English to classes of mixed nationalities at different levels, and give private lessons on a one-to-one basis or in small groups. In addition to using resources from a variety of teaching books, I have developed my own materials such as word games and comprehension exercises using authentic texts. Having many years experience of working for financial institutions in the City of London, I also teach business and financial English. The purpose of learning a language is to communicate, and so my lessons are focussed on helping students to talk to people they meet in their everyday lives and deal with essential reading material and correspondence. As well as language, my students gain knowledge of English life, customs and history to add to their experience of visiting or living in the UK.
