Christchurch Physiotherapy Practice

Having qualified at Kings College Hospital London, Steph worked at several London hospitals. She gained experience in a wide range of physiotherapy specialities, becoming a senior clinician in Orthopaedics and Outpatients at UCH and St Bartholomew’s. In 1987 she studied at the British College of Acupuncture gaining a Licentiate qualification in 1989. In 1990 she became physiotherapy manager at the Bournemouth Nuffield Hospital. After having a family, she established Christchurch Physiotherapy practice in 2000, and more recently set up a satellite practice at Cadnam in the New Forest. Being an active participant in several sports, Steph’s particular areas of interest are sports injuries and the use of Acupuncture for a range of conditions. After qualifying at the Newcastle-upon-Tyne School of Physiotherapy in 1987, Helen gained experience in a variety of physiotherapy disciplines at Queen Mary’s, Roehampton and at Addenbrookes in Cambridge. She then moved to Hinchingbrooke Hospital in Huntingdon and worked as a Senior Physiotherapist in their busy Outpatient Department. On moving to Germany, she took up a position at the Sennelager Medical Centre and gained experience in treating severe burns and musculo-skeletal injuries from casualties of the initial Gulf War conflict. She returned to the UK and took a position at the Lincoln Physiotherapy and Sports Injuries Clinic as an Associate for one-year before being offered a partnership in this private practice. A further move to the Middle East saw Helen set up the Dhahran Physiotherapy and Sports Injuries Clinic. For the last 4 years she has been self-employed at the Aycliffe Physiotherapy Practice where she has been predominantly treating musculo-skeletal and sports related injuries. Helen is a keen runner, hill-walker and scuba diver and fully understands the desire of athletes to return to sports as soon as possible after injury.
