Old bread ovens can be seen in Lanherne Cottage next door, but unfortunately, the ones in Churchgate broke up during the renovation. One former tenant of Lanherne Cottage, Mrs. Mogridge used to be able to detect the smell of baking bread late at night, along with several visitors since. She remembered once being woken up by the smell and when she went downstairs to investigate, found that her oven, although switched off, was quite hot, despite the fact that she had not used it that day!
Crantock Village still retains a traditional feel. It has a beautiful church, a central village green, a general store/newsagents/post office and a number of craft/art shops and galleries plus a choice of two Pubs.
