From 26th April 2014 the mortgage market will be very different. Banks will no longer be able to just sell you a mortgage and, even though they will still be restricted to the products that they individually offer, they will need to give you mortgage advice. This is likely to cause them all sorts of resource problems as they don't yet have the trained staff to deal with the anticipated business volumes. It hasn't really affected us as most of the requirements were already second nature - so why not jump the queues and get access to a comprehensive range of lenders at the same time?
