I started as a financial advser in 2001 with Co-operative Insurance Society and immediately enjoyed the relationships that are made with clients and the impact we can have on peoples financial lives. I moved to work for LloydsTSB in 2005 and worked in very busy branches and trained new entrants into the role. In 2011 having passed my diploma exams ahead of schedule, I decided to work as an Independent financial adviser and really enjoyed the completely different role, not being tied to any one provider and being able to continue providing good service with clients and keeping them updated regularly. Darren and I set up Derwent in 2013 as we felt it reflected our local connections having lived in Derbyshire all my life.
