Berwick Hills Dental Practice first opened its doors to patients in 1984. Helen Almond bought the practice in 1993. The practice has been expanded several times and now has seven surgeries, the last two opening in spring 2009. The surgeries are all well equipped with modern equipment; we are fully computerised and use digital radiography. Helen was brought up in North Yorkshire; she graduated BDS from Manchester University in 1981, gaining a postgraduate qualification (MFGDP) in 1993. From January 2002 to December 2003 she undertook a certificate in restorative dentistry at the Eastman Institute in London; a course designed to enable her to work at a higher level in the area of restoring teeth.

Helen also has a certificate in Teaching and Learning in Professional Practice from the University of Central Lancashire. She has an interest in preventative dentistry and works hard to improve oral health and reduce inequalities. Helen is the vice-chair of Tees Local Dental Committee.
