At Freedom Logistics we hold a combined 60 years of experience in the freight management and import/export industry. When we were first introduced to Anthony Norman of ATL Packaging he had very little practical experience of importing at all, but had identified a key business advantage to sourcing product from China and needed help in getting his plans off the ground. We were able to assist in setting him up with his EORI and provide information on freight options costs and schedules and consulting closely with him on product classification in the HM Customs Tariff to establish the Duty and VAT payable on arrival in the UK; so he eventually had a landed cost model to work with. When this then led to landing a large contract requiring fixed prices in GBP for 12 months, we introduced him to Schneider FX who were able to provide him with forward orders for the purchases in USD currency alleviating the exchange rate risk.
