Oriental rugs are works of art that you can use and will in some cases increase in value. Oriental rugs and carpets come from Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, China, Turkey, Tibet and Nepal. The Oriental rugs and carpets that are from Iran are made up of 3 different types; town, village and tribal.

The town Oriental rugs tend to be the finest quality, some made with silk. The patterns are more intricate and because they are finer they will be the hardest wearing.
