Irving Sykes was founded by co owners Joseph Irving and Nicholas Sykes. The two craftsmen met whilst studying furniture making together at the world renowned West Dean College, where they served a two year making diploma. After refining their design and making techniques, the pair went on to work for some of the country’s most prestigious furniture makers in London and Yorkshire.

After gaining over 10 years’ experience in the furniture making trade, the duo have joined forces and passion for designing and making beautiful living spaces. Inspired by early 18th century design through to Arts and Crafts and contemporary cabinet making, we offer a highly varied array of design and making using traditional cabinet making techniques. Whether you are looking for a fine detailed one off piece of furniture or a complex kitchen design for your home, we will ensure that you receive a professional and personal service delivering the highest quality furniture.

Irving Sykes furniture is hand made from solid hardwood timber using traditional construction techniques. We have a timber supply ranging from Oak all the way through to more decorative timbers such as burr Walnut. Our philosophy is to offer handmade kitchens and furniture, with a personalized customer service. We work on a one to one basis with our clients, making sure they are totally satisfied with the progress of their order from concept to completion.
