John Mitchell Psychotherapy

I am a UKCP Registered Gestalt Psychotherapist. I work in private practice in Steyning, West Sussex with individuals and couples. I also see clients on behalf of employee assistance programmes, offer supervision for counsellors and psychotherapists, and mentoring for other professionals. I believe it is crucially important to create a therapy setting which is supportive, understanding and honest. I have 30 years' experience of helping people recover from stress, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, abuse and the effects of physical and psychological trauma. This can include the effects of early neglect and abandonment, including the separations resulting from boarding school education. I have also worked extensively with people experiencing persistent conflicts and negative behaviour patterns who seek creative directions for their lives, as well as those going through major life transitions, such as bereavement, retirement, divorce, redundancy etc.
