Johnson Gillies

John Gillies originally founded Johnson Gillies in 1986 when he set up offices in Hatton Garden, London, providing specialist commercial Building Surveying services. At that time office development was busy and firms were keen to have state of the art interiors. The new practice benefitted from this with design and fitting out contracts for major firms of accountants and financial advisors.

Our work was focused on commercial property legislation, ensuring compliance of office interiors and acquisitions of industrial and retail space with the growth of retail warehouses and large dilapidations instructions.

In 1996 the Party Wall etc, Act extended legislation to the whole of England and our inner London experience has meant this is a major area of specialism. In the 1990′s our design and contract management expanded and we won awards for nightclubs and restaurant development. In 1997 Johnathon Gillies joined the firm.
