Founded in 1913, today M H Southern & Co Ltd is a fourth generation family company specialising in timber importing and sawmilling and providing a high quality, flexible service to all construction and allied industries. With locations in the north east of England at Jarrow and Berwick upon Tweed, MHS is located within easy access of the A1 and regional port facilities, allowing us to serve the whole of the UK as well as undertaking export orders.

Extensive facilities at both sites enables MHS to produce, stock and supply a wide range of machined timbers, including large sections and extra long lengths, and with the ability to handle unusual requirements at a very competitive price. We stock certified timbers and have an extensive range of speciality species including: Douglas Fir, Pitch Pine, Greenheart, Ekki/Azobe, Yellow Pine, Keruing, Opepe, Cedar and Larch.
