We use MDPE (polypipe) to repair or replace water mains pipe. Houses that were built after 1980’s were supplied with MDPE, houses before this time may have lead or galvanised steel pipes. Both the above are prone to corrosion and could have lead/steel particles in your water supply; it is more cost effective in the long run to replace your old lead/galvanised steel pipes with polypipe.
