Near-n-far Taxis

With our administration office based in Ilkeston, Near N far taxis has a fleet of over 60 vehicles to serve the locality between Derby and Nottingham. Whether you need a taxi to get to work, need to book a minibus for a group night away, Near-N-Far has a large range of licensed vehicles ensuring you safely get your destination in comfort. It’s a far cry from what it is today! Back in 1972, Fred Hancox set up Freds Taxis and within the first 18 months, the taxi fleet had tripled in size. Expansion was Fred’s vision and over the coming years, Freds Taxis rebranded to what we know today as Near-N-Far in 1988. This expansion lead to the purchase of our head office and depot at Canalside in Ilkeston in 1994. Further acquisitions of KC Central Taxis in Long Eaton and Quick Cabs in Sandiacre in 2014 has enabled Near-N-Far to be the largest Taxi and Private Hire operator within the borough with an ever expanding fleet of over 60 vehicles.
