Nicola Williams

I am Nicola Williams, a family law solicitor based in Greater Manchester. I have been a fully qualified solicitor since 1996 although I started working in a large law firm in 1992. For many years I covered a broad spectrum of family law work but in recent years I have narrowed my work load significantly. I no longer undertake any kind of work related to domestic violence or disputes over children. I now focus entirely on helping people record and implement agreements related to the division of their assets on separation or divorce. This may be in the form of a consent order or a separation agreement. You can minimise areas of disagreement by entering into a pre-nuptial agreement (an agreement about assets already acquired before you marry generally speaking) or a post-nuptial agreement (less common but possibly useful where people have forgotten to have a pre-nup or where they have separated perhaps and wish to reconcile but only on certain conditions).
