SPA enjoys the challenge of working with complicated contextural constraints inherent in existing properties, including having to work closely with the Local Authority.
Born in Croatia, Sanya received her Diploma from the University of Zagreb before coming to London in 1988 via Amsterdam, where she worked for Herman Hertzberger. Before establishing SPA, she worked for Hopkins Architects, Allsop, Lyall & Stomer and Sell Wade Postins, a conservation specialists to The National Trust and Ecclesiastical buildings.
