When thinking about choosing a counsellor or psychotherapist it is important to ensure that the person you select is trained and qualified to the highest possible professional standards. They should be registered or accredited with recognisable and established registering bodies and have been trained by credible academic training institutions or organisations. One way to check this is to look them up on their stated national register, for example in the BACP or UKCP ‘Find a Therapist’ section. Our service began in 2011. All SKCP members are highly trained and qualified practitioners who bring years of specialist clinical research experience from NHS and private sector mental health services to people in Kent who are discerning about their talking therapy and emotional well-being requirements.
