Southampton is centrally placed at the end of the M3 and the east/west connection provided by the M27/A31 and acts as a regional centre for central southern Hampshire. The Docks, with its role as the premier embarkation point for UK based cruises and the Western Docks handling some of the largest container ships in the world, are at the hub of south Hampshire commercial activity.
