Stratford Music Centre

Following our transfer from Stratford College to Stratford School, much of the promise that had been discussed regarding a close working relationship with the school has not developed in the ways that had been expected.The Centre's underlying corporate entity is a non-profit body. Whilst it has received support from the Town Trust over the years for specific projects, for which we have always been most grateful, the major element of the Centre's income is derived from fees paid by students.Faced with a 37% increase in rental charges by the School from September 2019, the inability to agree new contracts, and current student numbers which are insufficient to maintain a viable financial position, the unavoidable decision had to be taken formally to bring our activities to a conclusion as soon as possible at the end of this term.
