Over the last 23 years The Linen Yard Practice has established good links and referrals with the local healthcare providers, GP’s and consultants. Osteopathy is an established system of diagnosis and manual treatment, recognised by the British Medical Association, that lays it's main emphasis on the structural and functional integrity of the body. Problems occur within the body for many reasons including direct injury, sports, illnesses, stress, occupation, repetitive strain and postural imbalances such as pregnancy. Osteopaths take a detailed case history and use their hands to assess and treat the underlying causes of pain. Osteopaths use a variety of manipulative techniques individual to each patient. These include stretching, rhythmic joint movements, high velocity thrusts, gentle releasing techniques and the cranial approach.
