The Walkmill Luxury Holiday Cottages

We’re very excited to have purchased Walkmill Lodge in spring 2018. We came to stay for a weekend and fell in love! The sound of the river, being able to walk in the hills in all directions, the little shop up the road, the food in the nearby pubs … I think I drove Barry mad saying it’s so beautiful!” over and over! We live in the east of Shropshire, in my great grandmother’s house. You’d never know my roots are in Shropshire from my accent — I’m Yorkshire born and bred — but it feels very special to have come ‘home’ ten years ago. Barry was born in Portsmouth but has lived around the west midlands for most of his life — you’ll spot the black country twang if you speak to him! We like life’s simple pleasures — a walk in the hills, being out in the garden. We try to live as sustainably as we can with our veggie plot and hens, and carry out the bidding of however many cats we’re sharing our home with — at current count we have 5 of our own and also foster for the RSPCA.
