Watches, clocks and barometers and engraved tankards are examples of other items are to be found, together with a range of silver gifts both traditional and some just that little bit different. (For the person that has everything!) Established in 1881 Trelfers Jewellers are the oldest Jewellers in Horsham. Originally trading as B.H.Trelfer, Watch & Clock Maker and Jeweller, Capel & Horsham before occupying the current premises in East Street around 1907 trading as Trelfer & Co. A 1912 issue of the West Sussex County Times contained an advert promoting a range of ‘wristlet watches’ with prices from 5s. Although prices have increased you can still buy a wristwatch from a Horsham Jewellers at Trelfers. Terry Cox came to Trelfers as a Watch and Clock maker in 1953 later managing the business before purchasing. John (Terry’s son) was involved in the business from a child and today along with his wife Pauline continues to run this independent family business.
