Walkden Gardens

Walkden Gardens known locally as 'The Maze' or 'The Secret Garden' has for too long been a closely guarded secret, many people who have lived in and around Sale all their lives may not until recently have been aware of these remarkable gardens. One of the aims of The Friends of Walkden Gardens has been to make these gardens better known to more people. The Gardens have, once again in 2013/14, been awarded the prestigeous Green Flag Award which they have held for several years. The Gardens are open every day and entrance is FREE OF CHARGE except on a few occasions when there are musical or theatrical performances taking place.

We regret that, except when there are theatrical events, there are no tollet facilites on site. Please note that, as the Gardens are a public open space, they cannot normally be hired for private events. The gates are normally opened at about 9.00am (sometimes earlier) and are currently officially closed at 7.00pm. Please don't risk getting locked in!
