Founded by husband-and-wife team Melvyn and Susan Woodhead in 1965, they originally practised as a Residential and Commercial Estate Agent in Wakefield. Melvyn sold the agency in 1982 to give greater attention to Woodhead Investments. Woodhead Investments then began expanding into the investment and development of commercial, agricultural and residential property across Wakefield and the wider Yorkshire area. Today, Woodhead Investments is focused on the buying and selling of properties for trading profit as well as long term investment.
